Hi I'm Lindsay from New Zealand.

I'm a medium skilled embedded C programmer with reasonable knowledge of the Microchip PIC32MX family specialising in embedded web servers. No experience with Freescale but I expect that's about to change.

I've also a small amount of digital electronics knowledge through to PCB design.

I have ordered the Dev board and it shall arrive in a few days.

My initial project interest is to convert a Honda RVF400 motorcyle to EFI as I have a few of them.

Anyway, i have a question, what is the overlap between this project & http://ecu.zeeff.com/index.php

Thanks

Very cool bikes.....I didn't know they were sold outside Japan? Have you got a plan for the trigger setup?

The overlap is that we just couldn't play nice together and Jon and Jared decided to head off on their own...and took our forum database with them

I've found running an open source project makes hearding cats look easy.....it's really hard to get a team together with agreement on goals and objectives and actually work on them. I think we're in good shape now....but can certainly use more C help!

Ok so my TRK-MPC5634M board arrived but now I have other projects forced on me which combined with travel will put this one on the back burner until November at the earliest.

On the mechanical side I have dragged out an old spare ex race RVF400 engine (hopefully a runner) and will mount it on a stand. My plan is to get it running with an original set of carbs/ecu as a baseline and then move on from there.

Additionally I've collected a few more random various motorcycle EFI parts, ie MAP sensor, temp sensors, reluctor pickups. I've also 3 or so various complete inline 4 throttle bodies from fairly recent motorcycles for inspiration. I'm also looking for a set from a late Honda VFR800 as seems sensible.

Injectors per cylinder are a challenge for only 100cc so I've collected a few sets of injectors specifically including a couple of sets of motorcycle secondary injectors which I will be eventually flow testing to hopefully find a suitable set.

On the firmware side, I'll start exploring the TPU functionality offered by Freescale and then move on to start looking at the open5xxxecu firmware implementation.

But I expect I'll be fairly quiet on this front for a few months.

Great news on the board and it sounds like a cool project shaping up.

I think you are going to find that there is enough resolution to allow the larger injectors to be used without any problem and ultra short duty cycles (under 35%) are all the rage these days.....kind of pseudo-direct injection.
