I've discussed with Mark the feasability of the project ECU being it's own scope. It should be able to do a good job of displaying any of it's own signals on whatever host computer you connect it to. You could include a BNC connector too.

Partly it just seems humorous to do...

One thing I've been taught over the years is to not use an instrument to test itself. To which I've replied that an instrument for testing will eventually be calibrated and tested against itself.
