Ok. It's been a bit since I was last here. And it is all pretty much gone...

What happened to all the posts (not to mention the old accounts)? That is a crap load of info that is gone. Hopefully, it is all backed up and just not restored yet...

Sure.

To me it seemed like there was also an awful lot of parallel/alternate path type work going on which was confusing and honestly extremely counterproductive to actually finishing anything. When I asked everyone to knock it off, agree to a goal and and focus on finishing their tasks that support the goal I pissed off Jon (and a few others). Jon had the keys to the server he decided it would be ok to take the database content and leave.

But it's not as bad as it first seems.....

Most of the forum content to date was very time specific talking about an issue or feature we were working on and once finished the threads were really not very relevant....so more blog than tech resource. As we move into the beta phase we were planning to implement an automatic 30 day achieve in the development sections so forum searches would turn up relevant info instead of issues or bugs from development work.....now we don't have to worry about it :)

There are now clear and uniform goals within the core developers and things are moving forward much quicker. Some really serious limits in the o5e core are now being tackled head on because now that there is an actual goal it's now crystal clear to everyone what the problems are.

The drive toward uniform goals is what allowed me to convince Rob to invest his time and money into developing HW that is o5e compatible. It also lets me talk to Mike and Phil about our current and future tuner needs.

So while the lose of the forum data caused a little short term pain, the development team is now an actual team and o5e is now in a much much stronger position.

Sorry to hear about that childish behavior Mike. But I am very glad to hear that the new focus is bearing fruit!

I'll take some (a lot?) of the blame too because if there's 1 thing I'm really good at it's pissing people off. :o

But now we're focused......

I know plenty of people that might actually agree with that statement. And those are just my friends!

I should probably mention my comment wasn't meant to be provocative, but was more tongue-in-cheek.
